I am an MA Sustainable Design student at the University of Brighton, with my key research interests in:

o Humans as part of nature

o Rewilding and biodiversity

o Symbiosis and the interconnectedness of all life

o Nature history and archaeology

o Peatland ecosystems

I previously studied Archaeology. I am interested in the ways that humans in the present, past and future, live sustainably and gently with the natural world. There is a lot we can learn from each other across our cultures and through time, and I believe there are ways for us to collaborate that are not exploitative.

I produce work through a variety of creative outlets, such as film, poetry and paper models.

My current project is an adaptable model for rewilding that is human and non-human inclusive. It has been designed for use in the UK, as a country of significant urban development and rapidly decreasing biodiversity. A key theme of of the project is to challenge the notion that being human is synonymous with the destruction of nature, as this concept does not acknowledge that we are part of nature and overlooks the many humans who live in greater balance with the world around them. Not only this but the links between nature and our physical and mental health are becoming increasingly apparent, as is the disconnect with both in some societies. Rewilding has potential to act as a catalyst for the restoration of ecological processes, biodiversity, human healing and illness prevention.
